Overview
Build powerful NVMe over Fabrics high-performance shared storage solution with MayaScale with high-availability. Consolidate direct attached NVMe resources into shared storage pool and provision flexible NVMe namespaces to clients demanding high performance with low latency. When finished the clients can return NVMe storage space back to storage pool. No more over-provisioning or stranded NVMe storage space as is the case with Direct Attached storage. This network agnostic solution uses RDMA for on-premises and standard TCP on cloud. True NVMe device is visible to client using standard NVMe driver stack without need for any proprietary driver extensions.
BENEFITS Not only separates storage from compute instances but also removes many deployment restrictions. For example compute instances with locally attached SSDs cannot be stopped and restart requires recreation of that compute instance. With MayaScale, client is relieved of any rigid storage provisioning dilemma Get persistent storage using synchronous mirroring of ephemeral NVMe devices with HA pair and benefit 10x performance of EBS.
CLIENTS NVMe over TCP supported for CentOS/RHEL 7.4, 7.5 only Other clients connect through iSCSI
Highlights
- Provides Elastic NVMe volumes for high-performance and low latency by leveraging ephemeral NVMe resources
- Easy deployment and flexible provisioning of ephemeral NVMe resources to clients instead of locally attached NVMe to every instance
- Active-Active HA to make ephemeral storage persistent by using synchronous mirroring and benefit 10x performance of EBS.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
To use MayaScale you will need to take the following steps:
- Launch the AMI and subscribe
- Launch a storage optimized Instance using your key pair
- To access the Web GUI, use a browser window and enter http://<instance-public-ip>:2020 and login using username admin and password as the instance ID ( value that starts with i- )
- To change the default password connect to the launched instance using SSH as user ec2-user and set the password for Web Administration Console by running ec2-user$ sudo /opt/mayastor/web/changepass.sh
