You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run this software on. All 18 options bill under the same usage model, so you pick the instance that matches your compute needs. Choices span burstable t2, t3, and t3a families plus the general-purpose m4 family. Within each family, sizes range from medium up to very large (such as 16xlarge). Larger instance sizes carry more CPU and memory, so the hourly rate rises with size. You can stop running at any time since billing follows actual usage.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Billing follows running hours, so a fully stopped instance stops accruing software charges. You pay only while the instance is active. Note that stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the hourly software rate meters running time only.
The rate covers the running Jitsi software on the chosen EC2 instance type. Hossted also provides security hardening and support for the open-source application, including troubleshooting, bug fixes, and security patch guidance. The rate rises with instance size because larger sizes carry more CPU and memory.
Each instance type bills under the same hourly usage model. To change capacity, you run the software on a different instance size. Your hourly rate then follows the new instance type. There is no upfront commitment, so you can switch as your compute needs change.

Usage instructions
After deployment, you can access your application at http://<public IP>. (It might take up to 15 minutes to be available post-deployment). The machine is accessible via SSH, default username: ubuntu. Where relevant, app login credentials are available on message of the day (and /etc/motd).
