Who this is for:
Teams that need a remediated, evidence-backed baseline for regulated workloads - the OpenSCAP score and audit artifacts your assessors can review without re-scanning from scratch on day one.
What you get (StigReady Applied tier):
StigReady Base partition layout plus CIS Benchmark aligned Level 1 remediation (StigForge roles)
Scored in the build against the raw, unmodified SSG CIS Benchmark Level 1 Server profile
The published score counts every documented exemption as a failure. Boot loader, root and sudo password rules fail until you run sudo stigready-set-credentials (AWS Marketplace does not allow these passwords in an AMI). Rules that do not apply to a cloud AMI (for example remote log offload and smartcard/CAC) are listed with a POA&M entry and the customer action in the evidence bundle.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay an hourly software fee for each running instance, billed on top of your EC2 costs. The 14 dimensions map to arm64 instance types across three families. The t4g sizes range from micro through 2xlarge for general burstable workloads. The m6g and m7g sizes cover general-purpose needs from large to 4xlarge. The c6g sizes target compute-focused work at large and xlarge. Pricing follows the instance size you select, so larger instances carry a higher hourly rate. Choose the type that matches your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly software fee cover, and what do I get with each image?
The fee covers the CIS Benchmark Level 1 hardened image for RHEL 10 on arm64. Each image ships with OpenSCAP evidence: an ARF file, HTML report, POA&M, SBOM, and CVE scan. The image is scored in-build against the raw, unmodified SSG profile.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters per running instance-hour. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still pay underlying AWS storage charges for the instance volume while it is stopped. The software charge applies only to running time.
Is the software fee charged separately from my EC2 compute cost?
Yes. The hourly software fee is billed on top of your standard EC2 charges for the instance type you run. The two charges appear separately. Your total hourly cost is the EC2 rate for the selected arm64 instance plus the software fee.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Subscribe in AWS Marketplace, then launch in EC2 with your SSH key pair. Connect via SSH as ec2-user. The recommended security group allows SSH (TCP 22) from 0.0.0.0/0; narrow it to your admin network's IP range when you launch. This AMI requires IMDSv2-compatible instance metadata settings at launch. Documentation: https://stigready.com/applied. Download the per-version evidence bundle (OpenSCAP reports, POA&M, SBOM, CVE scan) from the URL in Support below. To meet the STIG/CIS boot loader, root and sudo password requirements on your instance, run sudo stigready-set-credentials after first login (AWS Marketplace policy does not allow these passwords to ship in the AMI).
