Overview
DeepSurface is a risk-based predictive vulnerability management platform that contextualizes vulnerabilities and chains of vulnerabilities within your unique digital infrastructure, predicting where an attacker could cause the most damage to your business. DeepSurface ingests vulnerability scans and over 50 different attributes of your environment to create a complete threat model with actionable intelligence to maximize risk reduction. The DeepSurface AWS EC2 Cloud allows you to quickly and easily implement DeepSurface.
Unlike vulnerability scanners, threat feeds, and network management tools, DeepSurface gathers exhaustive context - including: user and system accounts, critical assets, installed software, user behavior, permissions, network access, vulnerability scanner data (Rapid7, Tenable Nessus, Qualys, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint), and AWS EC2 attributes - to generate a tailored and complete view and threat model of the business risk on your digital infrastructure.
Taking into account your critical assets, DeepSurface prioritizes all your hosts and vulnerabilities by the business risk they bring to your unique environment. For each vulnerability or chain of vulnerabilities, DeepSurface provides a hacker roadmap showing how those vulnerabilities can be used against you, and finally DeepSurface provides objective visual reports allowing you to easily communicate business risk with the other stakeholders in your organization and auditors, regulators and compliance teams.
Highlights
- Visualize how an attacker could move through your network with comprehensive threat models and attacker maps.
- Speeds vulnerability analysis by more than 5X

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. Usage instructions
Obtain your DeepSurface registration code by completing the DeepSurface license application form found here and we'll get you a code right away: https://deepsurface.com/product/deployment/#AWS
When you receive your DeepSurface registration code, you will also receive a DeepSurface Installation Guide. Refer to this guide prior to beginning the installation process to ensure you are configuring your instance correctly for agentless canning and/or agent based scanning.
To access the DeepSurface UI after registration, your EC2 instance should be configured to provide your workstation's web browser access to port 443 (HTTPS).
After your DeepSurface EC2 instance launches, you will complete the registration process by connecting to your instance via SSH as the dsadmin user and following the instructions presented in the shell console. For example: ssh -i <pem key> dsadmin@<ip or dns>
Upon completing the registration process, you may navigate to the UI of your DeepSurface EC2 instance using the public ip address if one was assigned during the launch or via the private ip if your network has been configured for such access.
Note: Your DeepSurface instance will have an insecure SSL certificate installed at launch, refer to the Before You Start section of the DeepSurface Installation Guide for further guidance regarding configuring an SSL certificate for your instance.
