Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, codenamed Jammy Jellyfish, is a Long-Term Support release from Canonical designed for reliability, security, and performance across server, cloud, and desktop environments. It provides 5 years of standard support, with the option to extend security maintenance up to 10 years through Ubuntu Pro.

    This release includes a modern Linux kernel, improved hardware compatibility, faster boot times, and enhanced security features such as secure boot improvements, AppArmor profiles, and strong cryptography defaults. Ubuntu 22.04 offers excellent performance for containerized workloads, DevOps pipelines, CI/CD systems, databases, web applications, and enterprise software stacks.
