Instead, every dimension maps to a specific AWS instance type, from small burstable options like t2.nano and t3.micro up to memory- and compute-optimized sizes and bare-metal instances. Your hourly rate scales with the instance's compute, memory, and storage capacity. You can switch instance types as your needs change, since billing follows standard AWS hourly rates. No long-term contract is required, though annual billing may be available.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly rate maps to one running EC2 instance of the size you pick. It covers the software image itself, not the underlying AWS compute. The larger the instance's compute, memory, and storage, the higher the hourly software rate. You choose one instance type per running copy of the image.
The software rate meters running hours only. A stopped or terminated instance stops accruing software charges. Note that separate AWS storage fees may still apply while an instance is stopped. To end billing fully, back up your data, then terminate the instance.
Yes. You can scale up or down by changing your instance type as your needs grow. There are no long-term contracts or early termination fees. Billing follows standard AWS hourly rates, with an annual option also available. Contact the vendor for help adjusting configurations.
