Claude is a next-generation AI assistant based on Anthropic's research into training helpful, honest, and harmless AI systems. Claude is capable of a wide variety of conversational and text processing tasks while maintaining a high degree of reliability and predictability. Use cases include summarization, search, creative and collaborative writing, Q&A, coding, and more. This listing bills two ways. First, you can pay per token as you use the model. You pay separately for input tokens and response tokens, priced per million. Batch input and batch response tokens are billed as separate per-million options for processing large jobs. Second, you can reserve Provisioned Throughput, billed at an hourly rate. Provisioned Throughput comes with no commitment, a 1-month commitment, or a 6-month commitment, with longer commitments as separate options. Both token and throughput pricing vary by AWS Region, including ap-southeast-1, ap-northeast-1, and eu-central-1.

What is the difference between standard token pricing and the batch token options?
Standard input and response tokens meter each request as it runs, giving real-time results. Batch input and batch response tokens process large jobs together and cost less. Batch suits high-volume work you can run without immediate replies. Both bill separately per million tokens.
Am I charged when I reserve Provisioned Throughput but do not send any requests?
Provisioned Throughput bills at a fixed hourly rate for the reserved capacity, whether or not you send requests. You pay for the reserved time itself. Token-based pricing works differently: you only pay for tokens actually processed. Choose Provisioned Throughput for steady, predictable volume.
Which charges drive my bill if I use pay-per-token pricing?
You pay separately for input tokens and response tokens, each priced per million. Both apply to the same request and appear together on your invoice. Response tokens often cost more per million than input tokens. Long outputs raise cost faster than long prompts.

Anthropic Claude 2 is my favorite LLM, it understand logic really well and also feels both like a professional personal assistant as well as a good friend at the same time. Using Claude through AWS works well on my side and seems to be just as good as the actual use on anthropics site. Especially the fast access to Claude 2.1 (which was just released) is amazing!
Could not be happier with this. Especially if you are in a country that is currently not on the supported list of anthropic, accessing Claude through AWS is incredible.
