End-to-End Serverless Data Lifecycle Management Platform on AWS

Organizations across retail, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, healthcare, fintech, and e-commerce generate high volumes of transactional and operational data at distributed locations every day. The real challenge is managing the entire journey from raw ingestion through transformation, storage, analysis, and delivery -- without data loss, cascading failures, or the need to rearchitect when new data types or business domains are added.

This End-to-End Data Lifecycle Management Platform is a fully managed, serverless solution on AWS that addresses every stage of the data journey:

INGESTION: Amazon S3 serves as the primary landing zone for files and large payloads. A Claim-Check pattern via Transit API on ECS Fargate evaluates message size, stores large payloads in S3, and replaces them with lightweight reference tokens -- eliminating message size failures. Amazon API Gateway provides external-facing ingestion with throttling and authentication.

ROUTING AND MESSAGING: Amazon SNS with Message Filtering enables intelligent, attribute-based routing. Dedicated Amazon SQS queues per business domain (inventory, sales, billing, audit) ensure each domain processes independently without blocking others. Amazon EventBridge handles cross-service event routing and replay, while Amazon Kinesis supports sub-second streaming scenarios.

PROCESSING AND TRANSFORMATION: ECS Fargate containerized microservices handle domain-specific validation, enrichment, and insertion. AWS Lambda provides event-driven processing for lightweight transformations. AWS Glue manages batch ETL and schema cataloging. AWS Step Functions orchestrate multi-step workflows with error handling and retry logic.

STORAGE: Amazon S3 data lake with lifecycle policies and intelligent tiering, Amazon RDS/Aurora for ACID-compliant transactional data, DynamoDB for high-throughput NoSQL workloads, Amazon Redshift for analytical reporting, and Amazon Timestream for time-series telemetry.

ANALYTICS: Amazon Athena for serverless SQL queries on the data lake, Amazon QuickSight for BI dashboards, Amazon OpenSearch for full-text search and log analytics, and AWS Glue Data Catalog for unified metadata management.

SECURITY AND GOVERNANCE: VPC with private subnets and endpoints, IAM least-privilege policies, AWS Secrets Manager for credential rotation, CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting, X-Ray for distributed tracing, and CloudTrail for audit logging.

INFRASTRUCTURE: AWS CDK ensures consistent, repeatable deployments across environments. Route 53 handles DNS and health-based routing. AWS WAF protects API Gateway and ALB endpoints.

Extensibility is built in -- adding a new data domain requires only a new SQS queue, an SNS subscription, and a Fargate service. The ingestion, routing, storage, and analytics layers remain unchanged.
