This listing bills per hour based on the AWS EC2 instance type where you run the FortiCNAPP agent. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size across families such as t2, t3, t3a, t4g, c1, c3, c4, c5, c5a, c5ad, c5d, and c5n. Pricing scales with the instance you choose, so smaller instances like t3.nano cost less per hour than larger ones like c5.metal. You pay only for the hours each covered instance runs. All dimensions carry the same agent component; only the instance type and hourly rate differ.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one billable unit for this agent component?
You are billed per running AWS EC2 instance, matched to its instance type. Each instance where the agent runs counts on its own. The hourly rate follows the instance size you selected, from small types like t3.nano up to large ones like c5.metal.
Am I charged when a covered instance is stopped or powered off?
The agent meters by the hour while the instance runs. When an instance is fully stopped, it does not accrue agent charges for that time. You pay only for hours each covered instance is active. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS fees are separate.
Do all instance types get the same protection, or does the higher rate add features?
All dimensions carry the same FortiCNAPP agent component. The agent provides host, container, and process-level monitoring with behavior-based threat detection across every instance type. Only the instance type and hourly rate change; the security capability stays the same.
