Overview
The Nutanix + AWS Cloud Foundation offering from Insight Professional Services combines design, deployment, and in-depth knowledge transfer to extend your existing Nutanix on-premises environment into AWS. Built on six AWS fundamental components--Virtual Private Cloud, Resource Tagging, Identity Services, Cost Governance, Comprehensive Security, and Hybrid Connectivity--this engagement delivers a production-ready hybrid cloud foundation in approximately 5 weeks.
Your organization receives an AWS public cloud foundation managed via AWS Control Tower within an AWS Organizations structure, including dedicated Security-tooling and Log-archive accounts. The offering includes Native AWS Network or third-party firewalls in a centralized inspection VPC, Custom Service Control Policies, and native AWS security services such as Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Firewall Manager. Hybrid connectivity to the Transit Gateway is established via VPN or AWS Direct Connect, with integration of enterprise identity providers (Azure AD, Okta) through AWS Single Sign-On.
The five-phase engagement covers Kickoff, Design, Build and Configure, Data Protection and Migration, and Document Transfer and Closure. During design, up to four interactive whiteboard sessions translate your business goals into a secure, scalable architecture. The build phase deploys a hub-and-spoke landing zone using Transit Gateway, configures centralized networking and firewall services, and deploys a Nutanix NC2 cluster on AWS bare metal integrated with on-premises Prism Central. The migration phase configures Nutanix Move and executes a pilot migration of up to 10 non-production virtual machines.
Key use cases include Disaster Recovery, On-demand Bursting, and Data Center Evacuation. Deliverables include deployed cloud resources, a Build-As Design document, a live licensed Nutanix cluster in the public cloud, confirmed connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments, final configuration details, and a signed project completion form.
