    Dimensions summary

You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance that runs this preconfigured social networking software. There is no separate license fee beyond the instance rate. Pricing scales with the instance you pick. Options span several instance families: T-series burstable sizes, M-series balanced sizes, C-series compute-focused sizes, R-series memory-focused sizes, and I-series storage-focused sizes. Within each family, larger sizes (nano through 2xlarge) carry higher hourly rates because they add more CPU, memory, or storage. You choose the size that fits your expected traffic and workload, and you can change it later.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

The hourly rate covers the running EC2 instance with the software preinstalled. The software is free and open source, so there is no separate license fee. You pay AWS for the instance-hours plus any charge shown in the pricing table for the chosen size.
The hourly software and instance charges apply only while the instance runs. A stopped instance does not accrue the running hourly rate. You may still pay AWS storage fees for the attached disk and any Elastic IP you keep reserved while stopped.
You choose a different instance size and billing follows that size's hourly rate. The listing includes a backup and migration tool that saves files, databases, and settings to encrypted storage, so you can restore onto a new instance. Registration to the vendor Hub is required to use it.
