Overview
Who this is for
SaaS and product companies in Canada, the United States and Europe with several teams sharing one or two staging environments, running on Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS or AWS Lambda. The buyer is the VP Engineering, Head of Platform or engineering manager.
The problem
Shared staging becomes a queue. Teams overwrite each other's changes, QA waits, product managers review screenshots instead of working software, and fixes are tested only after merge. Environments created by hand are slow to build and easy to forget, so they run up cost.
What we deliver
Design. We map your services, dependencies and data, decide what each preview environment contains, and design isolation with namespaces, accounts or stacks.
Automation. Each pull request triggers your pipeline to build and deploy a preview environment with infrastructure as code, seed or mask test data, and post a review link on the pull request.
Testing. Automated tests run against the preview environment before merge, with results reported on the pull request.
Cost controls. Environments are torn down on merge or after inactivity, with Spot capacity, scale to zero and cost per environment reported.
For a full internal developer platform, see Internal Developer Platform: Backstage + Developer Operator Chat.
AWS services integrated
Amazon EKS or Amazon ECS, AWS Lambda, Amazon ECR, AWS CodePipeline or your CI system, AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, Amazon RDS snapshots or Aurora cloning, Amazon Route 53, AWS Certificate Manager, Amazon EC2 Spot Instances and Amazon CloudWatch.
Outcomes
- Every pull request gets its own running environment and review link.
- Tests run against real deployments before merge.
- Staging stops being a queue.
- Environments clean themselves up, with cost reported per environment.
Evidence
Dedicatted holds the AWS DevOps Consulting Competency. We built dynamic environments tied to work items in a developer platform for a large retailer, and took a fast-scaling SaaS company from zero to a developer-ready platform in two weeks, published as a case study on our AWS Partner Solutions Finder profile.
Where we deliver
Dedicatted is an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner and AWS Managed Service Provider headquartered in Toronto and Montreal, Canada. It is the first Canadian partner to hold both AWS AI Competencies (Generative AI and Agentic AI) and the first and only Canadian AWS Partner to hold the AWS Digital Sovereignty Services Competency. We deliver across Canada, the United States and Europe, in English and French, and support Canadian data residency in the AWS Canada (Central) and Canada West (Calgary) Regions.
AWS infrastructure charges
AWS bills you for the resources each preview environment uses while it runs, such as container or function capacity, databases or clones, load balancers and DNS, plus pipeline usage. Teardown on merge or inactivity keeps this bounded. We work through IAM roles you create.
Highlights
- A full environment for every pull request: your CI/CD pipeline builds and deploys a preview environment with infrastructure as code, seeds or masks test data and posts a review link on the pull request.
- Testing before merge, with cost under control: automated tests run against each preview environment, environments are torn down on merge or inactivity, and Spot capacity, scale to zero and cost per environment are built in.
- From an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner with the AWS DevOps Consulting Competency, which took a fast-scaling SaaS company from zero to a developer-ready platform in two weeks.
