You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, so pricing scales with the compute resources you select. Smaller instance types like m5.large or t3.large cost less per hour, while larger types such as m7a.metal-48xl or hpc7a.96xlarge carry higher hourly rates. There are no upfront commitments or fixed terms. You choose the instance that fits your workload size, and billing follows AWS usage. The software itself is the same across all instance types.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I paying for beyond the underlying EC2 instance charge?
You pay Solve DevOps an hourly software fee for the pre-configured Quay Container Registry image running on your chosen instance. This fee is separate from the standard AWS charge for the EC2 instance itself. Both appear on your AWS bill and accrue while the instance runs.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
The hourly software fee meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the Solve DevOps software charge. You may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volumes while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you restart the instance.
Does the software fee change if I store more container images or add users?
No. Billing is tied only to the instance-hours of your selected instance type. Storing more images, creating repositories, or adding users does not change the hourly software fee. If you need more capacity, you choose a larger instance type, which carries a different hourly rate.
