This listing is free software, so you pay no charge for Anapaya EDGE Lite itself. Your cost comes only from the AWS EC2 instance you choose to run it on. You pick one of eight instance types, billed by the hour. The options span the t3 and t3a families in medium, large, xlarge, and 2xlarge sizes. Larger sizes give more compute and memory capacity. The t3a types use AMD processors, while the t3 types use Intel processors. Pick the size that matches your workload; hourly rates scale with the instance's capacity.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What resources do I get for each hourly instance type, and how is one instance counted for billing?
Each dimension maps to one running AWS EC2 instance of that type, billed per hour. The t3 and t3a families offer medium, large, xlarge, and 2xlarge sizes. Each size defines fixed vCPU and memory. You are billed for one instance-hour per running instance, per hour it runs.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges apply only while an instance runs. Since the Anapaya EDGE Lite software is free, you incur no software fee at all. A stopped instance stops accruing hourly compute charges, though underlying AWS storage fees may still apply for attached volumes even when the instance is not running.
Does the software require a hardware appliance, or can it run on these virtual instances?
The Anapaya software runs on both physical hardware and virtual environments, so these EC2 instance types are supported. You choose the instance size that fits your network workload. Because the software is free, your only recurring cost is the hourly rate of the chosen instance type.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
