Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly charge covers the hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 machine image running on the AWS EC2 instance type you select. The image is pre-configured for security. The compute size, memory, and any GPU or bare-metal capacity come from the instance type you pick.
The software charge meters running hours only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue this hourly software cost. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volume may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from the software charge.
Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type. The hourly software rate scales with the size and family you choose. Small burstable sizes carry one rate, while large memory, compute, GPU, and bare-metal types carry higher rates. You pay the rate tied to the single instance type you run.
