Cloud Playout Advisory and Implementation Services

     Info
Outcome-based consulting to assess, validate, implement, productionize, and optimize cloud playout channels on AWS for linear VOD, live, advertising, captioning, resilient operations, and content distribution workflows.

    Overview

Headend Consulting assists media organizations and content owners build effective cloud playout capabilities on AWS. Engagements are organized around four outcomes: Coordinate, Experiment, Productize, and Optimize.

Coordinate aligns stakeholders, validates assumptions, defines the high-level architecture, and produces a strategic action plan. Experiment develops the detailed architecture, requirements, success criteria, AWS cost estimate, operating model, and a working minimum viable cloud playout workflow. Productize standardizes the validated MVP, completes the final design and implementation, adds contracted features, and provides delivery leadership for the transition to a secure, resilient, monitored, automated, and operationally ready production channel. Optimize improves workflows, financial controls, configurations, operating procedures, user adoption, and internal capability through UAT and knowledge transfer.

Depending on the private-offer scope, the service can address VOD linearization, live input switching, graphics, captions, SCTE-35 signaling, ad insertion or replacement, redundancy, backup, monitoring, security, automation, and distribution. The methodology can be adapted for broadcasters, FAST operators, sports organizations, rights holders, content owners, associations, churches, nonprofit organizations, and individual creators.

Every engagement begins with a scoping discussion. The resulting private offer and custom statement of work define the selected package, customer-specific outcome, in-scope capabilities, responsibilities, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables, acceptance criteria, delivery schedule, fixed price, and payment schedule. Coordinate and Experiment are normally one-time foundation engagements. Productize and Optimize can be purchased repeatedly as separately scoped projects as the customer's cloud playout capability evolves.

AWS infrastructure usage and third-party licenses are not included unless expressly stated in the private offer. Customers are responsible for AWS infrastructure and other usage charges incurred in their AWS accounts.

    Support contact: support@head-endconsulting.com

Pre-purchase inquiries are acknowledged within two business days. After private-offer acceptance, onboarding instructions or direct contact are provided within two business days.

Coverage is selected and priced in the custom SOW:

    • Bronze: 09:00-17:00 GMT+2, business days.
    • Silver: 24x7 shared support pool.
    • Gold: 24x7 dedicated team.

Initial response objectives (Information / Warning / Critical):

    • Bronze*: 72h / 24h / 8h.
    • Silver: 24h / 4h / 1h.
    • Gold: 8h / 2h / 30 minutes.

Information means a question or non-urgent issue without material impact. Warning means degraded service, elevated risk, or partial impairment with a workaround. Critical means a material outage or loss of an essential capability without a reasonable workaround.

These are initial-response objectives, not resolution commitments. Bronze clocks run only during its stated support window and pause outside it; Silver and Gold clocks run continuously. The SOW defines communication channels, escalation, service dates, and fair-use limits. In-scope deliverable questions and correction of confirmed errors are covered during the engagement and acceptance period.

Packages provide advisory and technical support only; they do not include managed operations or a master-control SLA. Any future operational service will be separately scoped and priced.
