You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run the Traffic Duplicator on. The six options are all instance types: t2.micro, t3a.small, t3a.medium, t3a.large, m5ad.large, and m5d.large. They differ in compute, memory, and processor resources, so the hourly rate scales with the size and capacity of the instance you choose. There are no tiers or feature-based plans. You select one instance type to match your traffic volume and performance needs, then pay for the hours it runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
Each rate covers the software running on a specific EC2 instance size. Larger instances like m5ad.large and m5d.large provide more compute and memory than t2.micro or t3a.small. You match the instance capacity to your traffic volume and duplication throughput needs.
Am I charged when the Traffic Duplicator instance is stopped?
Hourly software charges accrue only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not incur software charges. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply to a stopped instance, but the software meters running hours only.
Does duplicating traffic to more destinations increase my hourly cost?
No. You pay only for the instance-hours of the chosen EC2 type. The number of destination endpoints you clone UDP traffic to does not change the hourly rate. Cost scales with instance size and running time, not destination count.

Usage instructions
Edit the /etc/trafficduplicator/trafficduplicator.config file using vim, or nano.
Edit the JSON entries to reflect your desired UDP traffic forwarding configuration; multiple entries can be added.
Enter a custom key name for your entry (UDP-Replicator, DNS-Replicator, etc.); this is can be set to any alphanumeric value, do not use spaces.
Update the source port (SOURCEPORT), this is the local port that will be receiving traffic.
Update the destination host and port value(s) (DESTINATION) formatted as "IP address/port".
Reboot the system.
Ensure that the Traffic Duplicator appliance's Security Group permits inbound traffic to the source ports.
Ensure that source and destination checks are disabled for the Traffic Duplicator instance.
