monolayer turns a prompt, brief, or Git repo into a running system in your AWS account, with infrastructure, environments, deployment, and operations handled together.
monolayer is a next-generation developer platform that turns business intent and application code into governed, production-ready software inside the customer own AWS account.
It enables professional developers and CitizenDevelopers business and domain experts with deep operational knowledge to build and deploy applications without waiting on developer queues, cloud provisioning tickets, or specialized infrastructure expertise.
monolayer connects each application with the AWS infrastructure it needs and manages both as one system. Customer-defined policies, permissions, approved patterns, and review workflows govern every deployment, helping enterprises accelerate delivery without creating shadow IT or sacrificing security, compliance, or control.
Key Use Cases
CitizenDeveloper
Business teams often know exactly which workflows, tools, and applications they need, but lack the engineering resources to build them.
With monolayer, domain experts can turn business requirements into working applications deployed within a governed AWS environment. Enterprises can give citizen developers greater autonomy while maintaining control through:
Approved application and infrastructure patterns
Customer-defined policies and permissions
Automated security and compliance checks
Required review and approval workflows
Traceable deployment and audit records
Deployment inside the organization's AWS boundary
This helps reduce application backlogs and manual handoffs without introducing an ungoverned technology estate.
Developer Acceleration
Professional developers can define infrastructure directly from application code, including background jobs, cron tasks, databases, real-time WebSocket channels, and object storage.
monolayer provisions, configures, and deploys the required AWS services automatically, reducing the need for separate Terraform projects, YAML configuration, infrastructure tickets, or complex CI/CD pipelines.
Application Modernization
monolayer can bring inherited applications and infrastructure into a consistent, declarative delivery model. Teams can use the same governed workflow for infrastructure generation, policy validation, deployment, updates, and audit evidence.
Key Capabilities
Intent-to-Application: Start with a business requirement, application specification, or existing workload.
Application and Infrastructure Together: Define cloud requirements alongside application logic.
Governed Automation: Validate proposed changes against customer-defined policies and route exceptions for approval.
Preview Environments: Create branch environments with live databases and automatically applied migrations.
Production Deployment: Move approved applications from development to production through the same delivery path.
Audit Evidence: Maintain traceability across requirements, generated plans, policy checks, approvals, and deployments.
Platform capabilities include background jobs, cron scheduling, database management, migrations, WebSocket channels, object storage, secrets, observability, and local development workflows.
Who Is This For?
monolayer is designed for organizations that want to increase software delivery capacity without losing control of their AWS environment.
It supports:
Citizen developers and domain experts building internal applications
Application teams reducing infrastructure and deployment toil
Platform teams creating reusable, approved delivery patterns
Security and compliance teams requiring governance and traceability
Enterprises modernizing inherited applications
Startups that want speed without giving up infrastructure ownership
Why monolayer on AWS?
Enable Citizen Development Without Shadow IT: Applications remain within the enterprise's governed AWS environment.
No PaaS Lock-In: Customers retain ownership of their infrastructure, applications, and data.
Customer-Owned Controls: Existing AWS permissions, policies, and security boundaries remain in place.
Full Lifecycle Optimization: Support development, testing, previews, approvals, deployment, and production operations.
Developer Experience First: Citizen developers begin with business outcomes, while professional developers work directly from code.

Highlights
Build and Ship full-stack applications directly into your own AWS account while keeping control of your infrastructure, data, compliance posture, and cloud flexibility.
Spin up complete preview environments for every Git branch, with live databases and migrations applied automatically. Reduce manual environment setup and shorten the feedback loop from code change to deployable preview.
Retain full control over your infrastructure, data, and compliance posture. Unlike traditional PaaS solutions, monolayer runs inside your own AWS account, reducing vendor lock-in while delivering the developer experience of a managed platform.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
Description: Access to monolayer Pro for one workspace, including up to 25 users and 50 projects. Includes GitHub integration, preview environments, infrastructure provisioning, and production deployment into the customer's AWS account.
$1,250.00
Additional User
Additional monolayer user above the 25 users included in the Monolayer Pro Workspace plan.
$30.00
Additional Project
Additional monolayer project above the 50 projects included in the Monolayer Pro Workspace plan.
Pricing starts with the monolayer Pro Workspace, a contract for one workspace that covers up to 25 users and 50 projects. This base plan sets your included capacity. Two add-on dimensions let you expand beyond those limits. You buy Additional User units for each user above 25. You buy Additional Project units for each project above 50. The add-ons scale independently, so you add only what your team needs. Your application infrastructure runs in your own AWS account and is billed separately by AWS.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one project and one user for the add-on charges?
A user is one person with access to the workspace. A project is one application you deploy through the platform. Your Pro Workspace includes 25 users and 50 projects. Each person beyond 25 bills as an Additional User. Each project beyond 50 bills as an Additional Project.
What happens to my bill if my team grows past the 25 included users?
The base workspace covers 25 users and 50 projects. When you go beyond those limits, you add Additional User or Additional Project units. Only the users above 25 and projects above 50 are billed as add-ons. Your included capacity stays fixed under the base contract.
Does this price cover the cost of running my applications in the cloud?
No. This price covers access to the monolayer platform. Your application infrastructure runs inside your own AWS account. Compute, storage, and data transfer are billed directly by AWS, separate from this listing. You keep ownership and control of that infrastructure and its costs.
