Nginx is known for being the fastest web server. The softwares structure is asynchronous and event-driven. Which enables the processing of many requests at the same time. NGINX is highly scalable as well, meaning that its service grows along with its clients traffic.
Nginx Server Features
Reverse proxy with caching
Load balancing with in-band health checks
TLS/SSL with SNI and OCSP stapling support, via OpenSSL
FastCGI, SCGI, uWSGI, support with caching
Name-based and IP-based virtual servers
URL rewriting and redirection
SMTP, POP3, and IMAP proxy
Handling of static files, index files, and auto-indexing
Keep-alive and pipelined connections support
Access control based
Response rate limiting
WebSockets
NGINX can proxy IMAP, POP3 and SMTP protocols to one of the upstream mail servers that host mail accounts and thus can be used as a single endpoint for email clients. This may bring in a number of benefits, such as
Easy scaling the number of mail servers
Choosing a mail server basing on different rules, for example, choosing the nearest server basing on a clients IP address
Distributing the load among mail servers

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the software running on a Windows Server 2019 proxy built with Nginx. Pricing has one structure: an hourly software rate tied to the EC2 instance type you choose. Each listed dimension matches a specific instance size and family. Smaller instances like t2 and t3 fit light workloads, while larger compute, memory, storage, and GPU families support heavier use. Your hourly cost scales with the instance you select. You run this on top of standard AWS EC2 infrastructure charges, which are separate.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and what AWS costs apply separately?
The hourly rate covers the licensed software: Nginx preconfigured on Windows Server 2019 as a proxy. You pay this rate for each running instance-hour. Standard AWS EC2 compute charges for the instance you choose are billed separately by AWS and are not included in the software rate.
Am I charged the software rate when my instance is stopped?
The software rate meters running time only. When you stop or power off the instance, the hourly software charge does not accrue. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volume may still apply while the instance is stopped, since those are separate from the software licence.
How do I pick the right instance dimension, and can I change it later?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type and size. Smaller families like t2 and t3 suit light proxy traffic. Larger compute, memory, storage, and GPU families handle heavier loads. You can stop the instance and relaunch on a different type; your hourly software rate then matches the new selection.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
