Overview
To successfully adopt the cloud, you must first understand how your data center environment works, including infrastructure and applications. After mapping the environment, we must understand current consumption of data center resources, and forecast future usage, correlating with business demands. In many cases, provisioned resources are oversized, and moving them in this way will introduce business risks, unnecessary additional costs, and inefficiencies. Our assessment provides a non-intrusive discovery of data center assets, along with recommendations on how to migrate to AWS with a more efficient total cost of ownership (TCO) based on our twelve years of GLOBAL experience in cloud migrations. Engagement is performed using agile methods, where our team will non-intrusively use our assessment tool, NTT ICARS (Intelligent Cloud Assessment and Recommendation Service), to perform the discovery and mapping of infrastructure and application dependencies. With an agentless approach to the data center environment, the process will be performed using the following key steps:
- Planning workshops: Analysis of the discovery process, analysis of prerequisites, and any known issues in the environments to be mapped.
- Running: NTT enables data capture from applications in the data center environment and allows it to process data for approximately 1-2 weeks.
- Analysis: we analyze the captured data and structure it as delivery models for presentation and review with the client.
Highlights
- AS-IS Report: A Usage Summary of the Current State of the Existing Environment
- Hybrid Migration Advisory Report: A report that aims to map all possibilities for migration to the cloud, including the financial projection for each suggested architecture, aiming at optimizing TCO
- Technology Lifecycle Report: A report that informs you of considerations for any operating systems and software nearing end of life
