This is a repackaged software product wherein additional charges apply for RDP pre-configuration and GUI Access. This AWS-based EC2 comes pre-configured with Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute Raccoon) and a full Xfce desktop environment accessible via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) on port 3389. No additional setup required -- connect with any standard RDP client immediately after launch. The desktop environment includes the Xfce window manager, LightDM display manager, xrdp remote desktop server, and Firefox web browser. The lightweight Xfce desktop delivers excellent performance on cloud instances without the overhead of heavier desktop environments, making it ideal for development, administration, and productivity workloads in the cloud. This image is ideal for developers, administrators, and teams who need a graphical Linux desktop accessible from anywhere without managing complex VPN or X11 forwarding configurations. Usage instructions
Allow inbound SSH access in your security group (TCP port 22 and 3389) To connect to your instance using the Amazon EC2 console: Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/ .
In the navigation pane, choose Instances.
Select the instance and choose Connect. Choose the EC2 Instance Connect tab. For Connection type, choose Connect using EC2 Instance Connect. Access the ec2 with the default username: "ubuntu" For RDP Access: Create a password for ubuntu user for RDP login using the CLI command: "sudo passwd ubuntu" Launch RDP client and enter the ubuntu credentials
