You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen EC2 instance. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance size, so your rate depends on the compute capacity you select. Options span burstable general-purpose families (t2, t3, t3a) for lighter or variable workloads, and steadier general-purpose families (m3, m4, m5, m5a, m5d, m5ad, m5n, m5dn) for larger needs. Sizes range from nano and micro up through xlarge, multi-xlarge, and bare-metal instances. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. You are billed only for hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit represent for billing on this listing?
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the size you pick, billed per hour. The rate covers the AzuraCast software running on that instance. If you run two instances, you pay two hourly software charges. Instance size sets your rate.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped?
The software rate meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You may still pay underlying AWS fees for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but the AzuraCast software charge applies only while the instance runs.
How do I move to a larger instance if my radio station grows?
Each dimension maps to a fixed instance size. To scale, you launch or resize to a different size, and your hourly rate changes to match that size. There is no automatic tier jump. Larger sizes carry higher hourly rates; you choose the size you run.
