This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for technical support with a 24-hour response time. CentOS Stream 9, delivered as a minimal ARM64 (AWS Graviton) installation, is included in this AMI, repackaged by Easycloud. It provides a lean, continuously delivered enterprise Linux platform tracking the RHEL 9 development branch, deliberately engineered to combine Red Hat ecosystem compatibility with the price-performance of ARM64 Graviton instances.
Core Features & Integrations
CentOS Stream 9 Foundation: Provides a robust, enterprise-grade underlying OS with deep structural alignment to RHEL, ensuring high security and seamless ecosystem compatibility with AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, and traditional CentOS deployments. Running natively on ARM64, it takes full advantage of AWS Graviton processors for superior price-performance and energy efficiency.
CentOS Stream 9 (ARM64 Minimal): A continuously delivered distribution that tracks just ahead of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, delivering the packages that ship in upcoming RHEL 9 point releases before they land downstream. The minimal installation includes only the essential components required to boot and operate the system, keeping the image lean and the attack surface small.
Key Benefits
Rolling RHEL 9 Upstream Platform: CentOS Stream 9 tracks the leading edge of the RHEL 9 development branch, giving teams early access to the same packages that will ship in future RHEL 9 point releases. This provides a predictable upgrade path and broad compatibility with the mature Red Hat 9 software ecosystem across development, staging, and production workloads.
Ideal Foundation for Modern Cloud Infrastructure: By starting with a bloat-free CentOS Stream 9 minimal installation, maximum CPU and memory are dedicated entirely to your own workloads. This makes it the perfect, conflict-free foundation for web and application hosting including Nginx, Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, HAProxy, and WordPress, as well as data layers built on MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch. It seamlessly integrates with modern runtimes and container platforms (Python, Node.js, OpenJDK, Docker, Kubernetes), and serves as a rock-solid backbone for DevOps and observability stacks (Jenkins, HashiCorp Vault, Grafana, Prometheus, RabbitMQ), ensuring your enterprise Linux infrastructure scales without limits.
Production Ready & Expert Support: Secured with the latest OS patches. It delivers a highly stable environment, fully supported by comprehensive documentation and fast technical assistance (guaranteed 24-hour response time) to ensure your infrastructure runs smoothly without costly downtime.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for CentOS Stream 9 (ARM64) Minimal, bundled with vendor support. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS ARM64 (Graviton) instance type. Pricing scales with the compute size you pick. Smaller sizes like nano, micro, medium, and large cost less per hour. Larger sizes such as 4xlarge, 12xlarge, 48xlarge, and metal variants cost more. Instance families cover general purpose (m, t, a1), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x), storage-optimized (i, im, is), and GPU (g5g). You choose the family and size that fit your workload. There is no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
Each dimension bills per hour that the mapped ARM64 instance runs. The rate covers the CentOS Stream 9 Minimal software plus vendor support for that instance size. Stopped instances do not accrue software charges. You may still pay separate AWS fees for attached storage on stopped instances.
Is this pay-as-you-go, and how does cost change if I switch instance sizes?
Billing is usage-based hourly with no upfront commitment. If you move to a larger size like 4xlarge or metal, the hourly rate rises for the hours you run it. Moving to a smaller size lowers the rate. Changes take effect when you launch the new instance type.
Does the hourly price include vendor support, or is support billed separately?
Vendor support is bundled into each hourly rate, so no separate support charge applies. The vendor also offers services such as OS hardening, performance tuning, and compliance help, but those are engagements arranged directly with the vendor and are not part of this listing's hourly price.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
