You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance size you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, and storage of the machine you choose. Smaller shared-core instances like the t2 and t3 families carry lower hourly rates. Compute-optimized families (c-series), general-purpose families (m-series), memory-optimized families (r-series), and storage-focused families (i-series) cost more as capacity grows. The software itself is bundled with each hourly rate. You stop paying when you stop the instance, with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly unit covers one running EC2 instance of the size you select. The rate bundles the preconfigured content management appliance, a MySQL database frontend, a mail transfer agent, and web-based administration tools. SSL support is included. You run one application stack per instance, administered through a browser or SSH.
You pay the hourly rate only while the instance runs. Stopping the instance halts software charges, though AWS storage fees may still apply for attached volumes. There is no upfront commitment and no separate license fee. The software cost is built into each hourly rate for the chosen instance type.
The instance family you choose drives the price. The t2 and t3 families use shared cores for lighter workloads. The c-series targets compute-heavy tasks, the m-series balances compute and memory, the r-series favors memory, and the i-series adds local storage. Larger sizes within a family cost more per hour.

Usage instructions
System initialization
After launch, browse to http://<Public_DNS>/ and complete the first-boot configuration, or connect by SSH using the key pair selected at launch.
Operating system access
Connect using SSH as the Linux user admin with the selected EC2 key pair. Run privileged commands with sudo; this provides full OS-level administration.
Application access
Open http://<Public_DNS>/ in a web browser. The application may redirect to HTTPS after configuration.
