This data set contains a record of all active companies over one year old, registered in the UK with additional data fields of employee headcount, gender and a company’s specific emissions value as assigned by mnAi’s Carbon Emission Variable (CEV).
Overview
The mnAi CEV covers seven toxic gas types: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Nirous Oxide (NO2), Hydroflurocarbon (HFC), Sulphur Hexafluoride (SF6), Nitrogen Trifluoride (NF3), Methane (CF4), Perflurocarbon (PFC) and by overall emissions summary. The emissions value is calculated and attributed through a combination of public and proprietary data points which, when combined with a company’s gender attribute and the number of employees, provides additional insight and analysis relating to UK companies to help support research, insight and analysis.

Emissions attributes are broken into one of seven tags:
- Ultra-high emitter
- High emitter
- Medium-high emitter
- Medium emitter
- Medium-low emitter
- Low emitter
- Ultra-Low emitter
Gender attributes are broken down into one of seven tags:
- Female Led: An all-female board
- Majority Female: The board has a majority female directorship
- Gender Equal: There is an equal number of male and female directors
- Majority Male: The board has a majority male directorship
- Male Led: An all male board
Please note that employee numbers are derived from the latest financial statements provided by a specific company and may not be reflective of values today.
**Where we refer to the gender of an individual person, this classification has been derived from publicly available information. **Where we refer to the gender of a company, a classification for each director is derived from publicly available information and then aggregated to reflect the gender make-up of the board of directors as a whole.
