Overview
Overview
Stubby is a DNS stub resolver that encrypts DNS queries using DNS-over-TLS (DoT) and DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) protocols. This Docker container provides a secure, privacy-preserving DNS resolution service that prevents DNS queries from being intercepted, monitored, or manipulated by third parties.
Features
- Support for both DNS-over-TLS (RFC 7858) and DNS-over-HTTPS (RFC 8484) protocols
- Configurable upstream resolvers with automatic failover capabilities
- DNSSEC validation to ensure DNS response authenticity and integrity
- Lightweight container optimized for production deployments
- Comprehensive logging and monitoring capabilities
Getting Started
Deploy the container and configure your applications to use port 8053 for DNS queries. The service automatically encrypts all DNS traffic to configured upstream resolvers, providing immediate privacy protection without client-side configuration changes.
