You pay by the hour for Lektor running on Ubuntu 26.04, billed based on the EC2 instance size you choose. The 21 options are not feature tiers. Each maps to a different AWS instance type, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, and CPU resources of that instance. Smaller general-purpose instances like t3.nano and t2.micro use fewer resources, while larger types like t2.2xlarge, m5.large, r5.large, and c5.large provide more capacity. Memory-optimized (r-series), compute-optimized (c-series), and general-purpose (t- and m-series) families are all available. You match the instance to your workload needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing unit cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
Each unit is one hour of running time on the EC2 instance type you select. Charges accrue only while the instance is running. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue software charges, though AWS may still bill for attached storage on that instance.
Can I change the instance size later if my workload grows?
Yes. Pricing follows the EC2 instance type you run, so switching to a different type changes your hourly rate. You stop the current instance and launch the size you need. The software meters the running instance you choose at any time.
What is included with this listing beyond the software itself?
You get Lektor running on Ubuntu 26.04 plus maintenance support from the vendor. Support covers version upgrades, security updates, and vulnerability handling. Certified engineers are available around the clock for day-to-day questions about running the product.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
