Overview
Snowflake Private Data Exchange enables organisations to share data with partners, regulators, subsidiaries, and customers through a governed, Snowflake-native exchange model - replacing manual exports, FTP/email file drops, and bespoke ETL pipelines. With zero-copy sharing, consumers query live datasets directly while data remains in the provider’s environment, reducing duplication, improving data freshness, and strengthening auditability.
The engagement follows an outcome-led approach (Map → Design → Activate → Scale): map the data-sharing ecosystem and prioritise high-value use cases, implement governance-first controls (row/column security, dynamic masking, access policies, audit requirements), then publish governed shares and onboard consumers (including external parties via Reader Accounts). Where required, the solution is integrated with AWS services such as IAM/SSO, KMS (encryption key management), CloudTrail/CloudWatch (logging and monitoring), PrivateLink/VPC networking controls, and AWS Glue/Lambda for orchestration and integration - providing an end-to-end, secure data-sharing capability.
