Each maps to a specific EC2 instance size, so your rate depends on the compute resources you select. General-purpose sizes (t2, t3, m3, m4, m5) suit balanced workloads. Compute-focused sizes (c3, c4, c5) target processing-heavy tasks. Memory-focused sizes (r3, r4, r5) handle memory-intensive jobs. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type. The letter and number set the family and size. For example, t and m families balance CPU and memory, c families favor CPU, and r families favor memory. Larger sizes carry more vCPUs and RAM, which raises the hourly rate.
