Overview
Tibero is a high-performance, highly secure, highly scalable relational database management system (RDBMS) for enterprises that want to fully leverage their mission-critical data. In a world where data is at the core of everything, Tibero provides an enhanced view of processing, managing and securing large-scale databases. Highly compatible with Oracle, Tibero lets you leverage your on-premise software defined data center (SDDC) investment by embracing a simple licensing model similar to software as a service (SaaS) subscription pricing. TSC (Tibero Standby Clustering) configuration of Tibero consists of Primary Instance, Standby Instance, and Observer Instance that detects Primary Failure. It is a high-availability architecture that a primary instance fails-over to a standby instance in case of a primary instance failure.
Highlights
- TSC (Tibero Standby Clustering) for high availability (Active-Standby)
- Easy to operate via high compatibility with Oracle
- Scalability and high performance for a cloud environment(HA)

TmaxTibero TSC-obs Cloudformation Template
• A highly available architecture that spans three Availability Zones. • A virtual private cloud (VPC) configured with public and private subnets, according to AWS best practices, to provide you with your own virtual network on AWS. • Managed network address translation (NAT) gateways to allow outbound internet access for resources in the private subnets. Database instances use the NAT gateways to securely download the operating-system packages required to install Tibero. • A Linux bastion host in an Auto Scaling group to allow inbound SSH (Secure Shell) access to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances in public and private subnets. • A Tibero Standby Cluster (TSC), which comprises two EC2 instances in the first two Availability Zones. Each EC2 instance is attached to an Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) volume. These volumes house your primary and standby databases. • An EC2 instance in the third Availability Zone—the Tibero observer instance—to detect failure in the primary database.
• Through the Observer server, the failed primary database is automatically booted into a standby mode or the failed observer process is restarted to maintain TSC (Tibero Active Cluster) mode.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
