    Overview

Detect and replace sensitive entities in English and Spanish text with local Presidio analysis and pinned spaCy models. Return redacted text and detected spans.

This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for independent packaging, setup documentation and maintenance by Software Sushi. Ubuntu 24.04 x86_64, first-boot TLS and private access files are included. Software Sushi is independent of the upstream project and does not claim upstream or AWS endorsement.

Launch t3.medium with at least 24 GiB encrypted gp3 root storage, IMDSv2 and inbound application ports closed. Connect using Session Manager as ubuntu or SSH restricted to an administrative CIDR. Wait for cloud-init and run sudo -iu ubuntu bash /opt/sushi/docs/demo.sh. Reach the HTTPS service on port 8443 through a Session Manager port-forwarding session or an SSH tunnel. The bundled customer guide explains private access files and your first request.

No provider key is required for local sensitive-entity detection and redaction. EC2, EBS and data transfer charges are separate from software charges. Back up customer data before replacing an instance.

Version 0.1.9 bundles the customer launch guide and real-use walkthrough. Known issues: the retained complete 17 October 2026 host scan reports 680 High and 104 Critical matches in the pinned kernel. The complete runtime scan reports zero High/Critical matches. Complete compiled-component coverage remains unverified, and this version has not passed Software Sushi full security gate. Read https://docs.softwaresushi.com/presidio/operations/#maintenance  for the exact scan times, limitations and maintenance guidance before deployment.

    Highlights

    • English and Spanish text analysis and entity replacement.
    • Redacted output plus detected spans for independent verification.
    • Local spaCy models and private HTTPS access.

    Dimensions summary

This listing uses one pricing dimension. You pay an hourly software rate for each running t3.medium instance. Billing is usage-based, so charges accrue only while the instance runs. There is no upfront commitment, no annual term, and no bundled trial. Charges stop when you stop or terminate the instance. AWS infrastructure costs such as EC2, EBS, and data transfer are billed separately from this software rate. Stopping unused instances controls your hourly software spend, though retained EBS volumes can still incur AWS charges.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

The t3.medium instance starts with 4 GiB memory and 24 GiB root storage. It provides private HTTPS access on port 8443. These are minimum starting sizes, not throughput benchmarks. You get English and Spanish text analysis with entity replacement, running locally on your instance.
The hourly software rate applies only while the instance runs. Stopping or terminating the instance stops the hourly software charge. Retained EBS volumes and other AWS resources can still incur AWS charges even when the instance is stopped. Terminate unused instances to control compute and software usage.
Each request handles text only, from 1 to 32,000 characters, one operation at a time. There is no PDF or OCR pipeline, database connector, or reversible encryption. The hourly rate is the same regardless of request volume within these limits, since billing meters instance running time, not requests.
