    LiveNX Node

     Info
LiveNX Node is a distributed appliance that collects and processes network telemetry data from various network devices. It functions as a data collection point within the LiveNX architecture, feeding information into the LiveNX Server for centralized analysis and visualization.

    Overview

LiveNX Node, as part of the LiveNX network analytics platform, enhances network monitoring by improving scalability, visibility, and efficiency. By deploying multiple LiveNX Nodes across different locations, organizations can scale their monitoring infrastructure without overloading the central LiveNX Server. These distributed nodes collect and preprocess telemetry data such as NetFlow, sFlow, IPFIX, SNMP, OTEL, and LiveFlow data before forwarding it to the LiveNX Server, reducing network congestion and improving data processing efficiency.

LiveNX Nodes enable faster anomaly detection and response by analyzing data closer to its source, improving network performance troubleshooting and incident resolution times. In hybrid environments, LiveNX Nodes optimize SD-WAN and cloud visibility by strategically capturing traffic at key network locations, allowing organizations to maximize network performance, security, and operational efficiency.

    Highlights

    • Achieve Network-Wide Visibility: Get full visibility into network and application performance across multi-vendor, multi-domain and multi-cloud networked environments for increased productivity and a better user experience.
    • Optimize Performance: Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and quickly resolve network and application performance issues regardless of where they occur to speed time to repair, avoid costly downtime, and meet business needs.
    • Unify Network Data: Simplify network monitoring and accelerate troubleshooting by unifying all key network monitoring data types, including network packets, onto a single platform across the entire network, so that IT staff can focus on strategic initiatives.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

    1. Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/ .

    2. From the Amazon EC2 console dashboard, choose "Launch Instance".

    3. (Optional) Under Name and Tags, for Name, enter a descriptive name for your LiveNX instance.

    4. Under Application and OS Images (Amazon Machine Image), choose Browse More AMIs, then select the AWS Marketplace AMIs tab. Search for "LiveNX Node", select the image, and click Select.

    5. Choose "Subscribe on instance launch" or "Subscribe now".

    6. For Instance Type, select the desired instance type or use the recommended one.

    7. Under Key Pair (Login), for Key Pair Name, choose an existing key pair or create a new one.

    8. Under Network Settings, select the automatically created security group. We recommend adjusting these rules to allow access only from a specific address or range of addresses. If you choose to create a new security group, ensure that inbound and outbound access is configured according to the requirements listed in the LiveNX Getting Started Guide.

    9. Under Configure Storage, expand the 500GB data volume to your desired size and change the volume type to General Purpose SSD (gp2) or better.

    10. In the Summary panel, under Software Image (AMI), specify the number of instances you wish to launch. Also, review the other configuration details you specified. When you're ready to launch your instance, choose "Launch Instance".

    11. Once the instance is in the running state, use a web browser to access the application at https://<EC2_Instance_Public_DNS>
