AI-DLC Adoption for Software Teams with Kiro by Dedicatted

     Info
    Sold by: Dedicatted
For CTOs and VPs of Engineering at mid-market SaaS and software companies in Canada, the United States and Europe whose developers hold AI coding assistant seats while delivery has not changed. Dedicatted adopts AWS's AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC) on Kiro: a Mob Elaboration workshop on your own backlog, a measured pilot that takes one real backlog item to production with Kiro specs, steering files and AWS's open-source AI-DLC workflows, and a rollout playbook for every other team. Delivered from Toronto and Montreal in English and French.

    Overview

    Who this is for

Mid-market SaaS companies and independent software vendors in Canada, the United States and Europe, from one product team to several. The buyer is the CTO or VP of Engineering who bought AI coding assistant seats and must now show that delivery, not just typing, got faster.

    The problem

Developers write code faster with an AI assistant, yet lead time to production has not moved. The assistant does not know your architecture, data rules or security standards, so its code is rewritten in review, every developer prompts differently, and nobody can show what the seats changed. More licences do not fix a lifecycle built for people typing every line.

    What we deliver

Phase 1, baseline and setup. We trace how a change reaches production today, agree baseline metrics from your own tooling (lead time for changes, review rework, change failure rate, deployment frequency) and pick the pilot backlog item. Kiro is set up for the pilot team: sign-in through AWS IAM Identity Center, approved models, an MCP server allowlist, and prompt logs and user activity reports in Amazon S3 in your account.

Phase 2, AI-DLC workshop (Inception). A hands-on workshop on the pilot item, run on AWS's open-source AI-DLC workflows configured for Kiro. In Mob Elaboration the AI turns business intent into requirements, user stories and units of work and asks the questions; the team answers and approves at each gate. Your architecture, coding and security standards become Kiro steering files.

Phase 3, pilot (Construction and Operations). The team builds the approved units in bolts, short cycles measured in days, not multi-week sprints. In Mob Construction, Kiro specs carry requirements, design and tasks; the AI proposes the domain model, code and tests, and the team decides. Agent hooks run your tests, the AWS MCP Server gives Kiro IAM-scoped AWS access logged in AWS CloudTrail, and infrastructure is written as AWS CDK or AWS CloudFormation. The change ships through your own review and CI/CD pipeline.

Phase 4, measurement and playbook. We compare the pilot with the baseline, review Kiro usage in Amazon Athena and hand over a rollout playbook: team order, ritual calendar, steering-file library, internal lead roles, governance settings and a seat plan from measured usage. Teams on Amazon Q Developer IDE plugins move to Kiro ahead of AWS's end of support for those plugins.

Test generation and CI/CD pipeline builds are separate Dedicatted services.

    AWS services integrated

Kiro (IDE and CLI: specs, steering, agent hooks, MCP) with Kiro console administration, AWS's open-source AI-DLC workflows from AWS Labs, AWS IAM Identity Center, the AWS MCP Server (Agent Toolkit for AWS), Amazon S3, Amazon Athena, AWS CloudTrail, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, Amazon Bedrock where the pilot item calls a model, Amazon Q Developer (migrating to Kiro), and the pilot's own services, such as Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS or AWS Lambda.

    Outcomes

    • One real backlog item in production, built through Inception, Construction and Operations, its requirements and decisions kept in your repository.
    • The pilot measured against a baseline agreed before the first prompt, in your own delivery numbers.
    • Kiro models and MCP servers governed centrally, prompts and usage logged in your AWS account.
    • A rollout playbook your internal leads run without us.

    Evidence

Dedicatted's AWS Generative AI and Agentic AI Competencies validate our generative and agentic AI delivery, the same discipline of approval gates, logged decisions and governed tool access that AI-DLC applies to software. In September 2026 Dedicatted co-ran an AWS AI-DLC workshop in Toronto. Our AI-DLC engineering guide is available from the service page linked under Additional resources.

    Where we deliver

Dedicatted is an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner in Toronto and Montreal, Canada, the first Canadian partner with both AWS AI Competencies and the only Canadian AWS Partner with the AWS Digital Sovereignty Services Competency. We deliver across Canada, the US and Europe in English and French, with data residency in AWS Canada (Central) and Canada West (Calgary). Kiro enterprise profiles use the AWS Regions Kiro supports; the pilot workload can run in a Canadian Region.

    AWS infrastructure charges

AWS bills you directly for: Kiro subscriptions, monthly per subscribed user through AWS Billing and Cost Management, plus any overage you opt into; Amazon S3 storage for Kiro logs and reports, and an optional AWS KMS key; Amazon Athena, AWS CloudTrail and Amazon CloudWatch usage; Amazon Bedrock where the pilot item calls a model; and whatever the pilot item deploys. AWS IAM Identity Center and the AWS MCP Server carry no additional charge beyond the AWS resources they use. We work through an IAM role you create, scoped to Kiro administration, the log buckets and the pilot environment, and removed at handover unless monthly support continues.

    Highlights

    • AWS's AI-Driven Development Lifecycle adopted on Kiro, not just licensed: a hands-on Mob Elaboration workshop on your own backlog, run on AWS's open-source AI-DLC workflows, turns business intent into requirements, user stories and units of work your whole team approves, with your standards captured as Kiro steering files.
    • A measured pilot on one real backlog item: Mob Construction in bolts with Kiro specs and agent hooks, the AWS MCP Server from the Agent Toolkit for AWS for IAM-scoped AWS access, and the change shipped through your own review and CI/CD pipeline, compared with a delivery baseline agreed before the first prompt.
    • A rollout playbook with central governance: Kiro sign-in through AWS IAM Identity Center, approved models and MCP allowlists, prompt logs and usage reports in Amazon S3 queried with Amazon Athena, and the move off Amazon Q Developer IDE plugins, from a Toronto and Montreal AWS Premier Tier Services Partner holding the AWS Generative AI and Agentic AI Competencies.
