ClearView - MAP Assess

The assessment phase is a key component of the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP). It involves a high-velocity analysis of your current IT environment, identifying opportunities for cost savings, security, compliance improvements, and identifying any potential roadblocks to migration. The goal of this phase is to provide a data-driven business case and high-level migration plan that aligns with the customer's business objectives and minimizes disruption to their operations.

During the ClearView Assess phase, Clearscale will work closely with you using automated discovery tools and the latest in automation to gather information about your existing IT infrastructure and applications in as little as 48 hours. We will provide guidance on your readiness for migration, identify potential risks, and develop a migration plan that includes timelines, costs, and resource requirements. Customers are provided a recommended migration strategy, including any necessary modifications to their existing infrastructure or applications.

ClearView Assess is a critical step in the AWS MAP program, as it provides the foundation for the successful migration of applications and data to AWS. By identifying potential issues and providing a high-level migration and modernization plan, AWS MAP will help you achieve a smooth and efficient transition to the cloud, while also minimizing the risk of downtime and data loss.

Key Activities

ClearView Assess provides a low or no cost assessment that delivers a comprehensive Executive Summary, including a detailed financial business case, technical roadmap, and objective cost/timeline estimates. This includes approximately two to three weeks for automated discovery tools to run and collect environment data, followed by a 72-hour turnaround for your final Executive Summary and business case once access is fully granted.

Deliverables

• Migration Readiness Assessment (MRA) Report - A 360-degree evaluation of your cloud maturity across the six AWS CAF perspectives. We identify critical readiness gaps and strengths to provide a clear path forward before migration begins.

• Financial Business Case & TCO Analysis - A detailed Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) comparison between your current "do-nothing" on-premises costs and projected AWS spend, providing the financial justification for executive approval.

• Automated Inventory & Discovery Insights - A full technical snapshot of your IT estate. Utilizing agentless discovery automation, we deliver a complete asset inventory and application dependency map in as little as 48 hours.

• High-Level Migration Roadmap (The 7 Rs) - A strategic workload categorization for your entire portfolio. We assign each application an optimal migration strategy - Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, Retain, Relocate, or Repurchase - to maximize ROI.

• AWS MAP Funding & Incentives Summary - A breakdown of eligible AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) incentives. This includes credit projections for the Mobilize and Migrate phases based on your estimated annual AWS consumption.
