This product has charges associated with it for providing dedicated seller support and OS-level hardening by Blume in line with ACSC ISM Top Secret compliance. The ACSC ISM Top Secret Red Hat 9 AMI delivers a compliance-ready operating system with the most stringent security controls defined in the Australian Cyber Security Centre's Information Security Manual.
This is a repackaged software product wherein additional charges apply for dedicated seller support and operating system hardening by Blume.
Our AMIs are specifically hardened to meet ACSC ISM Top Secret compliance, the highest classification level defined in the Australian Cyber Security Centre's Information Security Manual (ISM). The ISM Top Secret level enforces the most rigorous configuration and hardening requirements, designed for environments handling highly classified workloads where maximum protection is required.
Controls at the Top Secret level include strict access control, mandatory encryption standards, advanced auditing and monitoring, and system isolation measures. These controls are intended to minimize risk exposure, protect sensitive information, and ensure maximum resilience against sophisticated attacks.
By adopting the ISM Top Secret level, organizations align with the most demanding Australian government security standards, ensuring compliance readiness for national security and highly classified workloads.
Finally, our operating systems are not only compliance ready but are also consistently updated, ensuring that the latest security patches are applied in a timely manner to maintain protection and reliability in production environments.
Highlights
Blume has been established since 2020 and is a trusted brand relied upon by many large corporations for secure and compliant solutions.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Pricing is tied to the AWS ARM-based (Graviton) instance type you choose, so the rate scales with the size and class of the machine. General-purpose (m-, t-, a-series), compute-optimized (c-series), memory-optimized (r-, x-series), storage- and I/O-focused (i-, is4gen, im4gn series), GPU (g5g), and high-performance (hpc7g) families are all available. Larger sizes within a family cost more per hour. The rate covers the hardened Red Hat 9 image and vendor support. Underlying AWS compute charges are separate.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly instance charge actually cover?
Each hourly rate covers the hardened Red Hat 9 ARM image and vendor support for one running instance. It does not cover the underlying AWS compute, storage, or networking fees. Those AWS infrastructure charges appear separately on your bill alongside the software rate.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or powered off?
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the software charge. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are AWS charges, not the per-hour software rate shown in the table.
How does cost change when I move to a bigger instance type?
Pricing is tied to the instance type you run. Each family and size carries its own hourly rate, so switching to a larger size within a family raises the per-hour charge. You pay the new rate per hour once the larger instance runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Version release notes
This is the initial release of Blume's Red Hat 9, providing a hardened, compliance-ready operating system aligned with ACSC ISM Top Secret standards.

Usage instructions
We recommend scoping your launched EC2 instance to only your internal network and restricting access to your own IP address for maximum security.
How to Connect to Your Red Hat 9 Instance Using SSH:
Locate your key pair: Ensure you have the .pem key pair file selected when launching the instance. Save it securely on your local machine.
Set permissions: Update the file permissions on the key file so it is not publicly viewable. Example: chmod 400 your-key.pem
Find the public DNS or IP: In the AWS Management Console, open the EC2 Dashboard and locate the Public DNS (IPv4) or Public IP of your instance.
Connect with SSH: From your terminal, run the following command, replacing your-key.pem with your key file and <public-dns> with your instance details: ssh -i your-key.pem ec2-user@<public-dns>
Accept the fingerprint: When prompted, confirm the fingerprint to establish the first-time connection.
You are now connected to your Red Hat 9 instance via SSH.
