Overview
HCLTech TraceX is an AI-native, IoT-driven physical intelligence platform that delivers real-time asset visibility and intelligent inventory orchestration across warehouses, factories and extended supply chains.
TraceX combines Physical AI, Generative AI and cloud-scale analytics to continuously sense, understand and optimize the physical movement of assets and materials:
• Physical AI ingests data from RFID, computer vision, sensors, robots and edge devices to create a live digital representation of assets, inventory and material flows. • AI and Machine Learning models analyze this real-time data to detect anomalies, predict shortages, optimize asset utilization, and proactively prevent losses. • Generative AI acts as an intelligent co-pilot, enabling natural-language queries, contextual insights, root-cause analysis and prescriptive recommendations tailored to enterprise roles and permissions.
Designed to be cloud-native on AWS, TraceX integrates seamlessly with ERP, WMS, MES and automation systems and scales securely across sites, regions and global operations
TraceX architecture leverages AWS to deliver scalability, security, and real‑time processing. Based on the client’s requirements, a robust cloud‑hosted solution is designed and implemented using a wide range of AWS services, each selected to support specific functional and technical capabilities.
AWS Services Used:
EC2 instances provided core compute capacity, while AWS Lambda supported event driven processing. Amazon RDS Aurora (PostgreSQL/MySQL) delivered high performance relational storage, and Amazon Bedrock with Claude enabled AI/ML capabilities.
Amazon OpenSearch powered fast indexing and search. Security and governance were enforced using Guardrails, AWS IAM, KMS, Systems Manager Parameter Store, Certificate Manager, AWS Config, and CloudTrail. Containers were built and stored in ECR, deployed via ECS and Fargate for serverless container orchestration. Network isolation was ensured with VPC, and traffic distribution was handled through ELB/ALB.
Amazon S3 served as durable object storage, while CloudFront acted as the global CDN. API Gateway exposed secure APIs, and Amazon MQ, SQS, SNS, and Event Bridge enabled messaging and event driven workflows. Monitoring and observability used CloudWatch.
Additional operational tools included CloudFormation for infrastructure as code deployment, Route 53 for DNS, and Cloud Shell for command-line operations. This integrated design provided scalability, real time processing, resilience, and end to end security aligned with client requirements.
A CI/CD pipeline is established using AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy to enable automated deployments, version-controlled source management, and continuous delivery across development and QA environments.
Highlights
- Up to 99% Inventory Accuracy with Physical AI Achieve near-real-time inventory visibility using RFID, vision systems, sensors and edge AI, eliminating manual counts, shrinkage and blind spots across warehouses and manufacturing plants.
- Reduced Obsolescence and Inventory Carrying Costs AI-driven demand sensing, aging analysis and anomaly detection identify slow-moving, excess, and at-risk inventory early, helping reduce write-offs, obsolescence and working capital lock-in.
- 20–25% Productivity Improvement with GenAI-Guided Workflows Generative AI delivers role-based insights, natural-language queries and guided actions for operators, planners and managers, accelerating decisions and improving execution efficiency across operations.
