This product provides a fully preconfigured deployment of Listmonk, an open source email marketing and newsletter management platform, optimized for AWS. It is designed for businesses that want a self hosted email marketing server with lower operating costs, greater control over subscriber data, and flexible deployment on Amazon EC2.
Delivered as a ready to launch AMI on Ubuntu, this solution enables fast deployment of a production ready Listmonk environment without manual installation or complex setup. Users can launch the instance, access the web interface, manage subscribers, create campaigns, send newsletters, and monitor engagement within minutes.
Listmonk offers a clean and efficient interface for running email campaigns at scale. Teams can organize mailing lists, manage subscribers, build email campaigns, schedule sends, and analyze performance from a single dashboard. The platform is ideal for newsletters, announcements, marketing outreach, transactional messaging, and internal communication workflows.
This AWS deployment is enhanced with built in integrations that improve reliability and operational efficiency. PostgreSQL backups are automatically pushed to Amazon S3 on a daily basis, helping protect critical campaign and subscriber data. IAM integration enables secure access to AWS services such as S3 and Route 53 without storing credentials on the instance.
For secure access, the deployment supports SSL configuration with Lets Encrypt. Users can access the application using the public IP address or configure a custom domain for a production ready experience. Route 53 can be used for DNS management. A fallback script is included for manual certificate generation if required.
The solution is designed for simplicity, performance, and scalability. It allows organizations to deploy a self hosted email marketing platform on AWS while maintaining full control over infrastructure, security, backups, and scaling. This makes it suitable for startups, agencies, SaaS companies, and enterprises that want to avoid the recurring costs and limitations of hosted email marketing platforms.
Key benefits include fast deployment, open source flexibility, automated backup support, secure AWS integration, and full ownership of application data. Because the AMI is preconfigured, teams can reduce setup time and focus on campaign execution instead of infrastructure management.

Listmonk Deployment on EC2 with S3 Backup and IAM Integration
This deployment launches Listmonk on an Amazon EC2 instance within a secure VPC, providing a reliable environment for email campaign management. The solution includes IAM roles for secure access to Amazon S3 for automated PostgreSQL backups and Route 53 for domain management. The AMI is preinstalled and configured, allowing users to start managing subscribers, creating campaigns, and sending newsletters immediately after launch. Users can access the application through the public IP address or configure a custom domain and SSL for secure access. Security groups can be configured for SSH, HTTP, and HTTPS access. This architecture is designed for simple deployment, operational efficiency, and full control over infrastructure and data on AWS.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
