AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for running Docker on AlmaLinux 8, priced per Arm-based instance you choose. Rates are not tiered plans; each instance type carries its own hourly software rate. The options span several instance families sized from nano and medium up through metal, so cost scales with the compute capacity you select. Larger instances within a family cost more per hour than smaller ones. You pick the instance that fits your workload, and hourly billing tracks actual usage. This runs alongside standard AWS infrastructure charges for the underlying instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
You are billed per hour that a chosen Arm-based instance runs the software. Fully stopped instances do not accrue the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply for stopped instances. The software meter tracks running time only, per instance you launch.
How do I move to a bigger instance, and does the hourly rate change?
You launch a new instance from the family and size that fits your workload, such as large, metal, or a numbered xlarge. Each instance type carries its own hourly software rate. Moving to a larger size within a family raises the hourly rate. The change is manual, based on the instance you select.
What support comes with running these instances?
Each product includes a support team available around the clock to help you launch and resolve issues. The vendor takes a hands-on approach and audits each virtual machine against security controls before use. This support applies regardless of which instance type you choose.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
