AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing charges you an hourly software fee tied to one instance size: m5.large. You pay for each hour the instance runs, so your cost scales with usage time rather than a fixed commitment. There is a single pricing dimension here, meaning you have one rate to plan around. You run this on an Amazon Linux 2023 image, and you also pay separate AWS charges for the underlying EC2 compute and storage. Billing stops when you stop the instance, giving you direct control over what you spend.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What hardware do I get with the m5.large instance tier?
The m5.large is a fixed-size EC2 instance with 2 vCPUs and 8 GB of RAM. On first boot, MySQL auto-tunes itself to this size, setting the buffer pool to 50-70% of RAM and adjusting connection limits based on available memory.
Am I charged when I stop or pause the instance?
The hourly software fee meters running time only, so a stopped instance stops accruing that fee. However, your database sits on a separate EBS volume. That storage still incurs standard AWS charges while the instance is stopped, even though the software license is paused.
Does the hourly rate change if I resize to a different instance size later?
This listing bills only the m5.large tier. If you resize to another EC2 instance type, the software charge follows that instance's own rate, and MySQL re-tunes itself on the next reboot. Underlying AWS compute and storage charges also change with the new size.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
