This image is built from award-winning open source network operating system, Vyatta Core v6.6r1, with commercial quality and hardened security. It provides dynamic and static routing, firewall, IPSEC, NAT, VPN, and other networking functions. This image is quick and easy to launch, suitable for connecting multiple branch offices, guarding access to on-premise or cloud resources, and offering VPN connections to remote PC/mobile clients. It features a simple and unified command line interface similar to those found in other commercial routers.

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
