Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to one AWS instance size, so pricing scales with the compute you choose. Options span general-purpose families (t2, t3, m3, m4, m5), compute-optimized families (c3, c4, c5), and memory-optimized families (r3, r4, r5). Within a family, larger sizes like large, xlarge, and 2xlarge cost more per hour than smaller sizes like nano, micro, and small. You pick the instance that fits your workload and pay only for hours used. Software and maintenance support are bundled into the hourly rate.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each rate is charged per hour that one EC2 instance of the named type runs. One unit equals one running instance of that size. Running two instances of the same type doubles the hourly charge. You pick the instance size, and billing follows the hours it stays active.
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage or other resources tied to the instance may still bill separately, but the software and maintenance rate applies only while the instance runs.
The hourly rate bundles the MYBB software on Ubuntu 26.04 plus maintenance support from the vendor. Support covers version upgrades, security upgrades, and vulnerability handling. The rate does not include separate AWS infrastructure fees, such as storage or data transfer, which AWS bills directly.
