Overview
PQCready™ PGVector is a pre-configured, production-ready PGVector image designed to deliver quantum-resistant HTTPS/TLS for modern web infrastructure. It combines the high-performance Database server capabilities of PGVector with post-quantum cryptographic support to protect TLS connections against both classical and future quantum computing attacks. Key Highlights:
- Quantum-Resistant TLS: Uses post-quantum cryptography algorithms (via a PQC-enabled OpenSSL with an OQS provider) to establish secure connections that remain resistant to future quantum adversaries.
- Pre-Configured AWS AMI: Available as a PQCready™ AWS Machine Image (AMI), enabling rapid deployment of a web server with PQC already set up.
- NIST-Standard Algorithms: Supports NIST-standardized post-quantum key encapsulation and signature algorithms (e.g., ML-KEM and ML-DSA) for strong, standardized security.
- Drop-In Deployment: Designed to integrate smoothly into existing cloud or on-prem infrastructure with minimal configuration effort. - Use Cases: Ideal for protecting embeddings data with quantum resilience, acting as a PQC-enabled AI embeddings database, and supporting mutual TLS scenarios. In essence, PQCready™ PGVector extends the trusted PGVector platform to be future-proof against quantum computing threats - helping organizations migrate toward post-quantum cryptographic security without sacrificing compatibility or performance.

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
