Overview
A one-time look tells you how the condenser is doing today. Air in-leakage, tube fouling, and tube plugging build gradually, so the value is in watching the trend. CondenserSentinel Advisory keeps that watch running between outages.
HOW IT WORKS Efficiency Signal builds a representation of the condenser from records already in plant document control: the nameplate or HEI data sheet, the tube plugging log, and the turbine thermal kit. Each week, five primary readings from your historian (condenser pressure per shell, circulating water inlet and outlet temperature, circulating water flow, and unit load) are compared with that design picture. Calculations follow Heat Exchange Institute (HEI) standards and use full IAPWS-IF97 steam properties.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE • A short weekly report on how the condenser is trending against design • Early notice when performance starts to move, and where to look • A check on whether the readings behind the picture are holding together • A running record of reports your team and American Efficiency Services can refer back to when an outage is planned or a condition appears
WHAT IT DOES NOT TOUCH • No connection to your DCS, historian, or plant network • No software installed on plant systems • No credentials, remote access, or logins • Historian exports are files you send, not a feed we take
WHERE THE ANALYSIS RUNS This service is delivered on Amazon Web Services. The design records and historian export you send are ingested and processed on Amazon EC2 instances in Efficiency Signal's own AWS account, where the HEI and IAPWS-IF97 calculations behind the report are performed. That processing is entirely separate from your plant: the points above still hold, and nothing in this service connects to your DCS, historian, or plant network.
HOW IT WORKS WITH AMERICAN EFFICIENCY SERVICES American Efficiency Services (AES), a condenser maintenance specialist since 2001, stays your point of contact, reviews each report with your team, and does the field work when the reports point to a problem. Efficiency Signal does not inspect, clean, or repair equipment.
Plants can start with a CondenserSentinel Assessment and move to Advisory once the baseline is set.
Highlights
- Weekly condenser performance reports built from your plant's own design records and historian readings, using HEI standards and IAPWS-IF97 steam properties.
- Early notice when condenser performance starts to drift, so maintenance is planned from evidence instead of found at the outage.
- No connection to plant systems: historian exports are shared as files, and American Efficiency Services stays your point of contact for field work.

Each Advisory subscription includes onboarding (collecting design records and setting the condenser baseline), weekly reports, and access to Efficiency Signal engineers for questions about any report. American Efficiency Services reviews findings with your team and coordinates any inspection, leak detection, cleaning, or repair work the reports point to. Questions are answered by email or phone on business days, with scheduled review calls as agreed in your offer.
