Nessus on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is a preconfigured Amazon Machine Image designed for fast deployment of vulnerability scanning and security assessment on AWS. This AMI includes a clean installation of Nessus with OS-level hardening and optional maintenance support by PCloudHosting.

    Overview

Nessus 10.11.1 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with Free Maintenance Support and Updates is a production-ready Amazon Machine Image (AMI) designed to enable rapid and secure deployment of Tenable Nessus in AWS environments. This AMI is ideal for vulnerability assessment, compliance auditing, and continuous security monitoring across cloud-based workloads, servers, and network assets.

Built on the latest Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, this image is optimized for Amazon EC2 and follows best practices for stability, performance, and security. It allows security teams, system administrators, and DevSecOps engineers to quickly launch a fully functional Nessus instance without manual installation or complex configuration steps.

This solution simplifies setup by providing a clean and hardened operating system, required system dependencies, and a ready-to-run Nessus service accessible via a secure HTTPS web interface on port 8834. After launch, users can complete the Nessus initialization wizard within minutes and begin scanning their AWS infrastructure or on-premise assets.

License Flexibility: Users can activate Nessus using their own valid Tenable license during first login, including Nessus Essentials, Nessus Professional, or Nessus Expert. Licensing, activation codes, and vulnerability plugins are managed directly by Tenable.

    Use Cases:

    • Cloud and infrastructure vulnerability scanning
    • Compliance and configuration audits
    • Security assessments for EC2 instances and networks
    • Penetration testing preparation and risk analysis

Maintenance and Support: PCloudHosting provides free maintenance support for the AMI, including OS-level updates, deployment assistance, and instance-related troubleshooting. This ensures customers receive a reliable and easy-to-maintain solution while retaining full control over Nessus licensing and configuration.

Disclaimer: Nessus is a registered trademark of Tenable, Inc. This Amazon Machine Image is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tenable. PCloudHosting provides packaging, deployment automation, and optional maintenance support only. Customers must obtain and manage their own Tenable Nessus license.
