What does one billed hour represent for each instance dimension?
Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance of that type. One hour equals one hour of that instance running the JupyterLab software. The rate reflects the instance's compute, memory, storage, or accelerator profile. You pick one instance type per launch and pay for the hours it runs.
Am I charged the software rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage for the stopped instance may still apply separately. Restarting the instance resumes software billing. You can start and stop as needed with no term commitment.
How does my bill combine the software charge and the EC2 infrastructure cost?
Two charges bill together per running hour. One is the JupyterLab software rate tied to your chosen instance type. The other is the standard AWS EC2 infrastructure cost for that instance. They add together on your AWS invoice. Choosing a different instance type changes both parts.
