Overview
OneData Software provides a robust platform for driving IoT-based insights, leveraging AWS services such as IoT Analytics, Athena, EMR, and QuickSight to enable both real-time and historical analytics of device-generated data. Their offering covers the full data pipeline from capturing streaming telemetry from IoT devices, to storing, processing, analyzing, and visualizing data to support operational excellence, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision making.
Core Functionalities
1. IoT Data Ingestion & Preprocessing Devices send telemetry to AWS IoT / Kinesis / IoT Analytics, where data is collected, filtered, and enriched. This may involve cleansing, normalization, time-alignment, metadata tagging.
2. Batch & Stream Processing with EMR & Athena Use Amazon EMR for large-scale batch processing of historical data: e.g. processing logs or large device datasets for trend analysis, ML training, anomaly pattern detection. Amazon Athena for ad-hoc, serverless SQL queries over data stored, enabling fast exploratory queries without provisioning infrastructure.
3. Time-Series & Metric Analytics via IoT Analytics Aggregation, rollups, time-windowed metrics, anomaly detection, forecasting of device behavior or operational parameters. Patterns over recent activity are surfaced.
4. Visualization & Dashboards (QuickSight) Build dashboards that combine streaming and batch data, show KPIs, trends, anomalies, predictions. Use QuickSight Q (natural language query), predictive visualizations, scheduled reports, drill-downs etc.
5. Predictive & ML-Enhanced Insights Integrate with machine learning (via SageMaker or other services) to build forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, operational risk alerts etc. Outputs feed into dashboards or trigger alerts / actions.
6. Governance, Security & Cost Control Secure ingestion, IAM policies, encryption at rest/in transit, fine-grained access, audit logs. Also concern for optimizing storage (e.g. partitioning, use of S3, use of proper compute sizing in EMR/Athena) to manage cost vs performance.
7. Operationalization & Monitoring OneData helps with monitoring the pipelines such as the health of data streams, lag, failures, performance of queries/dashboards. Ensures SLAs for latency or freshness of insights.
Benefits • Real-time visibility into device fleets and operations. • Reduced downtime via early detection of anomalies. • Better planning and optimization powered by historical trends. • Enhanced decision support via dashboards, predictive analytics. • Cost efficiency by using serverless/query-in-place & properly scaling compute. • Secure and governed data flow, satisfying compliance and business requirements.
