Oracle Database 19c Standard Edition Capabilities
Oracle19c is Oracle's long-term support release, delivering enterprise-grade stability for mission-critical workloads.
SQL and PL/SQL Engine - Full ANSI SQL compliance with complex joins, window functions, common table expressions, recursive queries, and analytic functions. PL/SQL support includes stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, exception handling, bulk operations, and native compilation.
ACID Transactions and Concurrency - Complete transaction control with commit, rollback, and savepoints. Multi-version concurrency control with row-level locking, deadlock detection, and configurable transaction isolation levels ensure data integrity under heavy concurrent workloads.
High Availability and Backup - RMAN backup utility with hot backups, incremental backups, and point-in-time recovery. Flashback technology, archive log mode, automatic restart, and standby database support keep your data protected and accessible.
Performance Optimization - Automatic Workload Repository (AWR), SQL tuning advisor, execution plans, optimizer hints, and configurable SGA/PGA memory management help you achieve optimal database tuning for your workload.
Security - Authentication, authorization, role-based access control, user management, encryption support, auditing capabilities, and data masking protect sensitive data.
Data Types and Indexing - Support for numeric, character, date/timestamp, LOB, JSON, XML, and spatial data types. B-tree indexes, bitmap indexes, function-based indexes, composite indexes, and index-organized tables accelerate query performance.
Partitioning - Range, list, and hash partitioning with partition pruning for improved performance on large datasets.
Example Use Case: Mid-Market ERP Migration to AWS
A growing company running Oracle Standard Edition on-premises for their ERP system needs to migrate to AWS to reduce infrastructure overhead. Using this AMI, the DBA launches a pre-configured Oracle19c instance on an appropriate EC2 instance, uses Data Pump to import the existing database, and configures RMAN for automated backups to EBS. cloudimg support assists with performance tuning for the new environment and validates backup strategies - reducing migration complexity and time-to-production.
cloudimg provides expert Oracle Database support around the clock via phone, email, and chat. Services include installation assistance, configuration tuning, performance optimization, backup strategy planning, troubleshooting, migration support, and upgrade guidance.

See AWS Free Tier for more details. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this Oracle Database 19c Standard Edition image on. Each dimension maps to one specific instance type, so pricing scales with the compute size you select. Smaller instances like t3.nano or m5.large cost less per hour, while metal and high-memory instances such as u7in-32tb.224xlarge cost more. Pick the instance that fits your memory and CPU needs; the vendor recommends m5.large or larger. Billing runs only while your instance operates, with no upfront commitment. Software charges apply on top of standard AWS infrastructure fees.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what am I actually paying for?
Each hourly charge covers the running EC2 instance with the pre-installed Oracle Database 19c Standard Edition image. You get the database software, sample ORCL database, preconfigured listener, helper scripts, and 24/7 vendor support with a 24-hour response SLA. The charge is separate from the underlying AWS compute fee.
Am I charged the software fee when my EC2 instance is stopped?
The hourly software charge accrues only while your instance runs. Stopping the instance halts the software metering. You may still pay standard AWS storage fees for the root volume and the dedicated /u01 Oracle volume, but the listing's per-hour software charge applies to running time only.
How does my bill change if I move to a larger instance type?
Each dimension maps to one instance type, billed per hour. Switching to a different instance changes your rate to match that instance. You pay the rate for whichever type is running at the time. The vendor recommends m5.large or larger, since Oracle benefits from more memory.
