You pay by the hour for a hardened Windows Server 2025 image running on your chosen AWS EC2 instance type. Each dimension maps to one specific instance type, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, storage, and accelerator profile you select. Smaller general-purpose types cost less per hour, while large memory-optimized, high-memory, GPU, and bare-metal types cost more. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment. Choose the instance size that fits your workload; the software cost applies on top of standard AWS infrastructure charges.

What do I actually receive when I launch one of these hourly instances?
You get a Windows Server 2025 image hardened against a security baseline before boot. It includes an embedded security engine that audits controls, verifies the deployed state, detects daily configuration drift, generates compliance-alignment reports, and rolls back changes. You choose one of seven baselines or build a custom one.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped, for example a standby or off-hours server?
The software charge meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You resume paying the hourly rate when the instance restarts. Underlying AWS storage and other resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, separate from this software cost.
Does the price change if I switch to a bigger instance for the same server?
Yes. Each dimension maps to one specific EC2 instance type, and the hourly software rate is tied to that type. Moving to a larger memory-optimized, GPU, or bare-metal type raises the hourly rate. Downsizing lowers it. The hardened image and security engine stay the same across every type.
