AIR Document Translation: AI-Powered Multilingual Document Translation

Agentic Document Translation (ADT) is an enterprise-grade AI solution that automates the entire document translation workflow. Co-innovated with the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) through the Partner Agent Factory (PAF) program, ADT is built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and Strands Agents, leveraging a multi-agent architecture that orchestrates specialized AI agents across every stage of the translation pipeline. Enterprise document translation remains one of the most time-consuming and costly recurring tasks in global organizations. Traditional approaches - whether manual translation, freelance translators, or basic machine translation - suffer from inconsistent quality, loss of formatting, lack of terminology control, and no built-in quality assurance. ADT addresses these challenges by deploying a team of specialized AI agents that autonomously analyze, translate, evaluate, and correct documents - making intelligent decisions at every stage, just like a team of expert human translators. Unlike conventional machine translation that processes text in isolation, ADT builds a deep contextual understanding of each document before translating a single word. AI agents read both the visual layout and the textual content. They analyze slide design, document structure, domain terminology, and target audience. The result: translations that reflect the full meaning and intent of the original - not just linguistically accurate, but contextually appropriate. Each agent autonomously decides how to act based on what it observes. The Guideline Agent drafts terminology glossaries, tone rules, and structural conventions specific to the document. The Translation Agent follows these guidelines while making real-time decisions on how to best convey meaning across languages. The Postprocessing Agent independently detects missing translations, terminology inconsistencies, and quality issues - then decides which items to retranslate and verifies the corrections through LLM-based scoring. No fixed rules, no manual intervention - agents judge and act on their own. Terminology and formatting consistency are enforced throughout the entire pipeline. AI-generated guidelines lock in key terms, tone, and style rules before translation begins, ensuring every page and every slide speaks with one voice. All original formatting - fonts, colors, layout, text box sizing - is preserved through every stage and faithfully reproduced in the final output. ADT supports PPTX and DOCX formats with granular style customization including tone, formality, audience, and translation approach.
