Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for Amazon Linux 2 running on ARM-based EC2 instances, with support from the vendor. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type and size. The many options fall into instance families tuned for different needs: general purpose, compute, memory, storage, and graphics workloads. Within each family, sizes range from nano and micro up to metal. Your cost scales with the size and family you choose, since larger instances carry more vCPU and memory. Pick the instance that matches your workload; you are billed only for the hours you run it.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billed hour cover for a given instance type?
One hour maps to one running EC2 instance of that specific type and size. The rate reflects the software and vendor support on top of the Amazon Linux 2 ARM image. You are billed per running instance, so two instances of the same type running together each accrue their own hourly charge.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software and support charge meters running time only. Stopped or fully powered-off instances do not accrue this charge. Underlying AWS storage costs, such as attached volumes, may still apply while an instance is stopped, but those are separate from this listing's hourly rate.
What do I get with the vendor support included in the hourly rate?
You get access to a support team for launch help and issue resolution, available around the clock. Each image is audited and tested against security controls before use. Support is included with every instance you run, no matter which instance type or size you choose.
